The Assemblies of God second regional centenary celebration was held at Angel International School, hall in Manipay Jaffna on the 12th of April 2014 at 10 A.M. The Executive Presbytery together with the members of the General Presbytery participated in the event. There was much reason to give thanks and celebrate the faithfulness of the Lord over the past years for what He has done in this region. In the midst of much social, economic and political turmoil and a prevailing war for over 30 years The Assemblies of God can firmly stand today in this region and praise God for what He has done and celebrate His faithfulness.

The event began with the General Presbytery and pastors of the region posing for a group photograph and followed by being escorted to the premises by the Angel International school band. After the hoisting of flags a number of pigeons were released by young people. Many items were presented by young people of the region. Mrs Rani Pulendran a long standing member of the Jaffna church was given the opportunity to share a brief testimony. Rev Jason Selvaraja presented the history segment followed by the preaching of God’s word by Rev Vernon Perera, the Vice Chairman of the Assemblies of God of Sri Lanka. Senior leaders of the region were presented with tokens of appreciation. The Arch Deacon of the Anglican Church in Jaffna was among the invitees present at the occasion. Around 1200 believers from the Jaffna peninsula and Vanni areas participated for the celebration.
