The Southern Centenary Celebration was held at the Hall De Galle in Galle on the 31st May 2014 bringing together believers from the South Western and Southern regions. After the hoisting of flags the leadership was ushered in to the hall. A colourful event consisting of singing, dancing and presentations was organized by the region. Pas. Sunil Hettiarachchi shared of how the Assemblies of God work of the Southern region, especially in Galle, began and expanded. Every credentialed minister was presented with a plaque appreciating their ministry. Three special plaques of appreciation were presented to the People’s Church, Calvary Centre Ja-Ela, and the Assemblies of God Bible College for their investment in the ministry of the Southern region. The General Superintendent, Rev. Dishan Wickramaratne challenged the gathering. The event concluded with a time of fellowship and refreshments.
