Personal and Character Development of a Leader
The fifth module of the Leaders with Promise program took place from April 2nd to 4th, 2025, at MAS Athena, Thulhiriya. As part of Season 2, the module focused on helping 31 emerging leaders grow in emotional intelligence, self-awareness, and personal integrity.
Program Overview
Sessions 1 & 2 – Clarity of Identity and Values
Led by Rev. Dr. Chrissokumar Handy, these sessions emphasized understanding one’s core values and how they shape leadership decisions and relationships.
Devotion Time
Rev. Kalinga led a reflective devotion before Session 3, encouraging participants to engage in personal introspection.
Session 3 – Awareness and Healing of Wounds
Rev. Neroshan Perera guided participants through emotional healing and understanding how unresolved wounds can affect leadership. He also oversaw the overall program flow.
Sessions 4–6 – Balancing Family and Ministry
Dr. Ted Rubesh offered practical insights on managing responsibilities at home and in ministry, stressing the need for healthy balance.
Sessions 7 & 8 – Emotionally Healthy Leadership
Rev. Dharshan Fernando closed the module with a focus on inner life and how emotional and spiritual health directly impact a leader’s external effectiveness.
Key Outcome
This module created a powerful space for self-reflection, healing, and growth—equipping participants to lead with authenticity, emotional health, and strong personal values.
